Sprouts Haul

Today I am quickly sharing the items I picked up at Sprouts this week! I love shopping at Sprouts, because they have so many unique and healthy items that are sometimes hard to find in regular grocery stores. I also always love the produce quality they have.

Typically I shop there for items and produce that are on sale. Most of the fruit and veggies I pick up are always the ones on sale! It is not the main store I use for the majority of my groceries, but I love going there. I always check the Sprouts ad on their app and also scan the coupons there. That is an easy way for me to make a list of things I want and SAVE money!

This week I mostly went to Sprouts to browse and pick up snacks and quick breakfast items. Everything I got is below. What are some of your favorite Sprouts/ heath food items? If you have any questions on the items I got here just let me know in the comments below!☺️ Cliff bars and a great grab and go item for me. I especially love that they made mostly made of oats which in my opinion helps with milk production, and since I am nursing that is important to me. Love Lenny & Larry’s cookies! The fact that they are soy free, vegan and high in protein is awesome. The white chocolate macadamia flavor is my favorite. You can’t go wrong with the bulk bins for beans & rice. We don’t buy much meat, but when I do get some for Tommy I try and get the best quality I can. This was my first time trying Cedar’s hummus. Love it! The lemon flavor is great. It is bright and just a little tart. I ate the whole thing in 3 days with my multi grain/ seed tortilla chips. Alexia frozen fries…faves!!! 😍All of these items above were all on sale this week. Like I said, I tend to buy what’s on sale! Lastly the organic sweet potato and the avocados were for making Ben’s baby food!

Blistered Brussels and Cauliflower, 100 Years of West Coast Flavors and More!

Living in Southern California means there is always good Mexican food around. One fact about me is that I love all my food saucy! The more sauce, salsa and dips the better. In this post I am sharing three tasty and saucy recipes I recreated from the makers of LA VICTORIA® Brand. Their salsas take on the bold and unique flavors of the West Coast, and I am loving them.

LA VICTORIA® is celebrating 100 years with exciting events in Los Angeles and San Diego which you can be a part of!

I am excited to be sponsored by LA VICTORIA® to recreate and shares recipes using their flavorful ingredients. I chose to buy the Thick n’ Chunky Salsa Verde, Salsa Brava Hot Sauce and the Green Taco Sauce, and I am absolutely in love with the Salsa Brava. Shrimp Nachos with Roasted Jalapeños and Corn

shrimp-nachos-42Nachos are one of my favorite dishes to order when we go out! I love all the cheese and toppings, but usually I don’t see nachos with shrimp on the menu. These shrimp nachos with easy pan roasted jalapeños and corn  and tons of guacamole are just the best thing ever to me right now!

Shrimp is so quick to cook. Pair that with your favorite store bought salsa and GOODFOODS Tableside® Chunky Guacamole, and you have a mouth-watering easy appetizer perfect for the holidays. Or do you want to just make this your dinner one night? I’m not judging!

Quick & Easy Holiday Cookie Recipes

cookie-collage

Baking has always been a love of mine. I remember a couple of years ago, the first time I made buttery homemade pie crust using the Barefoot Contessa’s recipe, I was so proud of myself! Also, I remember when I was a girl and made my first cake using Betty Crocker™ boxed cake mix… I was also so proud of myself! Sometimes I love to try new recipes and make everything from scratch, and sometimes store bought baking mix is just as good and can save you money too.

Making cookies around the holidays is something that I love to do. Cookies are treats that I love sharing at family parties as well as at work, and today I have two new super easy cookie recipes using Betty Crocker™ cookie mixes from Walmart.  Continue reading “Quick & Easy Holiday Cookie Recipes”

Trader Joe’s Grocery Haul- July 2016

It’s that time again. Time for a Trader Joe’s grocery haul where I show you what I bought at Trader Joe’s. Personally, I love grocery shopping as well as seeing what other people buy. Yes, grocery hauls are a thing! Just Google search it, and you will see.

Trader Joe’s is one of my all-time favorite stores for several reasons:

  • Great quality food
  • Low prices (I shop smart and save money here)
  • No artificial preservatives, colors, GMO’s, ect.
  • Exciting new items each month
  • Quality protein, fresh and frozen
  • Healthier snack options
  • Lots of vegetarian and vegan items

Seriously, I should be a spokesperson for Trader Joe’s. If you are reading this Trader Joe’s, email me! Make my nerdy dreams come true.

These are some of the items I bought. I have tried and loved most of them before, but there are a couple of new items as well.

Snacks: We love chips. That’s all I have to say about those. The baked ones are really good. Tommy likes granola bars, so those make an easy snack at work for him.

Protein: The eggs are a great price at Trader Joe’s sometimes I get the more expensive ones, but these are only $1.29.

Tommy loves these frozen turkey meatballs, and the ground turkey is great quality so I get that for him as well.

Dip: THIS DIP IS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Green Tajini Dip & Sauce. You need it! Dip veggies in it, dip chips, dip crackers, put it on salad, fish, chicken, whatever. It is so good. It’s $2.99, and I wish I had gotten three of them.

Vegetarian Protein: Since I eat mostly vegetarian I always buy a few meat replacement items. I love Quinoa Cowboy veggie burgers. I eat them with just a side of veggies or veggies and rice for a healthy and easy meal.

I’ve never tried baked tofu, but this looked good to me so we will see how I like it.

Frozen Items: The frozen hash browns are $1.69, and I love them. A lot.

I’ve purchased the frozen brown rice before, and it’s a good way to have an easy side and save time cooking it.

Extras: Almond butter is expensive. This was the most expensive item I bought, but I find it to be cheaper that at most stores. It’s $7.99, but it lasts us a long time. I use it for almond butter and jelly sandwiches, or I put it on top of my oatmeal .

Fresh Fruits & Veggies: I didn’t need much, because we are already stocked up on produce. I only got carrots and bananas.

I LOVE fresh fruit and vegetables. What are your summer favorites? I am currently loving watermelon and cucumber.

Smoothies: I like buying frozen fruit at Trader Joe’s for making smoothies. The pineapple tidbits are a must.

Pantry: Spices are also a great deal here. I use the taco seasoning mix on the ground turkey for Tommy.

That is everything I got this trip. If you want to see more good items to buy at Trader Joe’s be sure to check out my older Trader Joe’s Grocery Hauls.

Let me know what your favorite Trader Joe’s goodies are.
