Last weekend was my sister’s baby shower! We had a big family party to celebrate the parents-to-be and little baby Olivia. The party was Mexican themed with vibrant colors, handmade paper flowers and lots, I mean lots of delicious Mexican food. I am sharing all of the little details and the food here with you today!
Store-bought chips have nothing on the homemade ones. They just don’t. When I was a little girl and my mom would make chilaquiles for breakfast I would sneak into the kitchen and take a couple of the perfectly fried and crisp tortillas before they got added to the spicy sauce. It’s funny how little memories like that come back to you. Continue reading “Homemade Tortilla Chips and Salsa”
March is my birthday month! I know most people celebrate their birthDAY, but I feel like birthdays should be celebrated all month long. Why not? Birthday dinner with girlfriends one night, yes! Birthday breakfast with my coworkers, sounds awesome. A weekend away with my handsome hubby, yes please. Birthday cheesecake at my parents’ house? Yes! Who wants to eat healthier in January? I know I do. With this salad you are getting in good veggies, but you also have a little indulgence with creamy ranch dressing and a little bit of crispy onion strings for some crunch. The red onion and corn confetti make the salad fun and give lots more texture. Tangy barbeque sauce deepens the flavor. Throw some smoky chicken breast in the mix and you have a filling and flavorful dinner salad that you can make at home for cheap in 20 minutes!Continue reading “BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad”
A few weeks ago I headed up to Lake Arrowhead with my husband, our good friends and their adorable baby boy for the day.

I have been on vacation from work for the past week, and thought that I would be posting soooooo many recipes, but I haven’t. I have been spending lots of time with my family, sleeping in with my husband (he is on vacation too, yay!), watching way too much Mindy Project on Hulu and enjoying the last of the holiday festivities…
