Our Wedding Day

Today is my three-year wedding anniversary! It’s been three years since I walked down the aisle to Andrea Bocelli’s “Somos Novios” and said I do to the kindest and most loving husband I could have ever hoped for.  Tommy, this is for you.

As I type this and look at our photos from that day I am flooded with memories, and I’m feeling a little emotional. If I had to pick a favorite part of my entire wedding day, I would say that it was the ceremony. Specifically, because we wrote letters to one other as vows, and they were read during the ceremony. We both cried like babies. We couldn’t hold in the happiness we felt, the relief that our day was finally here, the emotion behind the words we had written and the love that we felt from our friends and family members who were there to join us in our union.

November 16th, 2013 will forever be one of the most memorable and beautiful days of our lives. So, we gave each other our first kiss as husband and wife. And the music played “Piel Canela” by Eydie Gorme & Trio Los Panchos, and we turned to face our family, and we walked back down the aisle but together this time, and it was pure joy.

No seria tan inmensa mi tristeza,
Como aquella de quedarme sin tu amor.

Me importas tu, y tu, y tu
Y solamente tu, y tu y tu
Me importas tu, y tu y tu
Y nadie mas que tu.

Ojos negros piel canela
Que me llegan a desesperar
Me importas tu, y tu y tu
Y nadie mas que tu.

I know that today I love my husband even more than I did three years ago, and somehow I suspect that every year the love grows more and more. Sometimes I think of the couples in our lives who have been married for 20 or 30 years, and it takes my breath away. To imagine a love that big, multiplied by decades. It’s amazing. I hope and pray to have decades more with my guy. You are a wonderful husband, and I have no doubt that you will be the best father to our son. I love you, Tommy.

Our wedding party was very simple. My husband’s brothers were his groomsmen and my sisters were my bridesmaids. My sister Dani was my maid of honor, and I want to thank her for everything she did that day!

This photo above of us with our parents is one of my favorites from our wedding!

Tommy and I love food! We got to set the menu for our guests, and carefully selected and taste tested the options beforehand. The margaritas were the best fresh squeezed margaritas too… Beer, margaritas and drinks all around!

Trio to set the romantic mood at the reception.

This photo of us is from someones phone, and it’s blurry but I love it.

Thank you mom for our cake and setting up the little details like our champagne flutes and chocolate covered strawberries!
